I hear ya. The Raptor, and some high end new Powerstrokes, cost more than my house as well. I like my 16-18 year old paid off stuff...lol.

 

Well, I see you fellas have been up to your usual shenanigans while I was away. What a week....

But it's Friday now, I'm home and looking at a short week next week before Thanksgiving. And yeah, the automotive carcinogens are a flying here too so the truck will be staying in the driveway if I have any say about it. I'll just keep driving my little Toyota.

The salt does kill our trucks, but it sure is a money maker. We had our first load (20 tons ) delivered the other day with 80 more tons coming next week. We have another 80 tons on reserve. We already got caught with our pants down last weekend and had to scramble to get our properties salted. Oh well, salt on! Lol.

 

That is the one thing about it. As bad as I hate winter, I know guys who make a pile of money when it snows...and I'll never begrudge a guy for making an honest living.

No she knows what it cost. I just don't tell her I'm buying it. I wait for the credit card bill to come in then come up with something to tell her why I need it.

Well that's one way. I usually deal in cash and just don't say anything. If she asks I just tell her it was for my mistress. She knows

 

I don't say anything and try to intercept the UPS or FedEx trucks outside before they knock on the door. LOL

 

These are issues I just don't have lol

We both do the finances together here in our house, so there's not hiding it. It's a game of give and take. She wants a puppy, I get a new toolbox. She gets things in pink boxes, mine come with yellow tape on them. She is looking at a fancy, new camera, I'm thinking about injectors, lol. It keeps us both honest I guess.

 

Its not that I'm being dishonest, deep down she knows. After all these years its just better not to argue about it. When the girls were in college, I was putting Falcons & Mustangs together with parts out of a junk yard. Retired with just the two of us, I can now afford to get the boxes with the yellow tape, LOL

 

I love the boxes with yellow tape. Got one just this week - nothing glamorous though, just stocking up some maintenance parts and grabbing some swag. I do owe the man with the yellow tape a call on something early next week though...
