Thomas, what ya gotta do to fix that seal is, remove the front drive shaft, drop the whole front end out, remove the springs, take the pivot brackets off the cross member, remove the pitman arm, jack the rear of the truck up and remove the u-bolts and blocks from the rear springs and replace it all with a D60 and F350 stuff...........LOL!!!
Yeah I know. I want to do a swap in the worst way, but the axles seem to be hard to come by. The last two I went to go buy sold before I could get to them.
I'd love to do a D60 swap too, but the funding isn't there for me right now.
I'm happy that the whole front end doesn't have to come apart to change the pivot bushings.
What brand bushings and ball joints should I buy? I do plan on mounting a snowplow someday. I've got a week off coming up for the baby and then 2 weeks off for Christmas/new year so it would be awesome to knock those repairs out then.
Iv been kicking myself in the butt for a loooong time. My step dad had an OBS 460 powered F-350 just sitting in the drive that he got it GAVE to him!!! Something like 50,000 miles but the tranny was shot. I was kicking around the idea of buying it off him but before I got my ducks in a row, he sold it... for $500!!!
