Aaron's comment the other day struck me:
OBS: obsession
OBS: obsession
- the state of being obsessed with something.
"he cared for OBS with a devotion bordering on obsession"- an idea or thought that continually preoccupies or intrudes on a person's mind.
plural noun: obsessions
"he was in the grip of an obsession he was powerless to resist"
- an idea or thought that continually preoccupies or intrudes on a person's mind.
Guilty as charged sadly...or not sadly...lol
It is what it is at this point. I'm just really needing my truck back but no end in sight.
Number 6!? I thought I was doing better coping with my OBSession....
Had a couple young bucks (friends of my baby sister) riding in the truck with me last night for a couple hours as we moved a piano for said sister. One of them a loudmouthed bow tie guy, talking smack the whole time. "Wow, it doesn't make much boost does it?!" "My 6.6 [Duramax] will walk away from it". I just smiled and nodded. We get almost home and the other guy, a nice quiet young man, says, I don't know I just really like these old trucks. There's something about these old body style trucks that just does it for me. I think I'll see if he's single and hook him up with my baby sister.
I did burn the other guy pretty bad about LS swapping the world, though. I said something about everybody wanting to LS swap everything and he says "Well, that depends which LS we're talking about...if we're talking about the 6.2, I might take you to task there. It depends which LS you're talking about." I just smiled and said, "No, no it doesn't..." Everybody (but him) laughed. Just kids, and it was all in good fun.
I like my old work truck. Let those young bucks have their fun. I know what I'm about...
Wait, what!? SD? No more Whitey?! I clearly haven't been paying attention...

Yeah, two things...
1) WAY overpriced
2) my jadedness with low mileage engines is obvious. I think the less they are worked and let to be still, the worse it is for them. JMO. The Superduty I just bought runs like it is brand new but has 250k miles. It's quiet, smooth, and powerful...but it's been worked!
