Ok a buddy of mine has a brother who is selling his 02 Harley with 64,000 miles. Truck has been garage kept and papmpered its entire life. Has never been driven in the rain and the interior looks like it did from day one. So his brother has given me first shot at purchasing it. He said he would take $15.500 for it. Completly stock other than he is running a flowmater. So my questions are:
is his asking price fair?
are they reliable daily drivers?
what is the average mpg before being tuned and with a tuner?
any issues at all with them that need to be addressed and corrected?
simple mods that make a difference?
I plan on putting a stage 2 kit from Troyer on the truck. The pulley, gator belt, tuner, air force one intake and tranny pan with crank case vent. Would this be a good addittion to the truck and would it be good for daily driving? At the min, I want a tuner and pulley to add a little extra.
I know about turbo charged vehicles, I had a few diesels in the 600rwhp range and built them for the last 10 years, but am new to the gas side of things and the supercharger end of it. Diesel gas just cost too much and I am kinda growing up even if i am 41...LOL kinda!

Answers in order:
1) Yes - Snag It! kinda high miles but if it's showroom clean it's worth it.
2) Yes - I know lots of folks that use it for a DD
3) 14-16 city & 17-20 highway (I got 19.5 hwy pulling a trailer 2500 miles)
....(Tuned subtract 1/2 mpg. E.G. 15 mpg=stock - 14 1/2 mpg=tuned)
4) Only "issue" Cam bolts/Washers need to be added for correct alignment.
5) Simple mods --> POST <--Click here.
Buy the truck. Then before adding any mods or a "kit" do some research.
Send me a PM. I have an 03 and TON's of info to help you with the truck.
hey thanks, what was the rules you were referring to in the other post, what are the does and don't when it comes to full throttle runs, or kick down passes ect.......
2 gear kick down, I kind like that spot myself but it is dangerous, when you are going about 33-35 mph and you punch it and your tanny kicks down to first then goes into second really quick at about 40mph.
3-4th basically HIGH SPEED runs. i.e you are going 75 a vette passes you like you are stopped. You nail it and he nails it you both are running around 120-130 for about a mile or so...then you hear clank clank clank.....white smoke out the back.
Colder weather often will increase the amount of boost on out trucks In summer you could be running 13lb of boost. On a nice crisp 32* day and you feel a little frisky so you punch it. All of sudden you have too much boost which bassically means that you have too much air and not enough fuel
After PP&T Info
SHORT VERSION:
Stopped punch = OD off
No high speed punch
Don't punch when cold
gee man, then how in the heck are you going to race or have fun if you cant do a 2nd gear kickdown or freeway drag at 55mph.... you taking all the fun out of me wanting one of these trucks...LOL thanks for the info it helps alot.... I am really on the fence about buying one. i don't want another diesel but need a truck so I am torn on getting one or not getting one..
I want a nice looking daily driver that looks good and has a lil something extra under the hood.... i was sent a picture of the truck, I will post it up
