twisted the return fuel line on secondary fuel filter

we like the title says i twisted the return line on the filter housing while trying to do the blue spring install. my question is will that hurt me since it is a return or do i need to fix it. also where can you get a replacment line? local junk yard has no trucks to pull from.

Back-up wrenches are critical to use.
Return line from regulator year: 05, 06, 07

Be sure to confirm this before ordering, but I am 90% sure that this is the part #.

No way to tell over the internet on how badly it is restricted.

I would probably change it if it were mine though.

I twisted mine a little when doing the EGR delete. I was in the same line of thinking as you were "let is slide?" kind of deal. So to force myself to not take shortcuts, I just completely destroyed it to leave myself with no other option

It will still run, but you might be getting higher fuel pressure than desired with the return restricted. I would replace it, not worth chancing some blown out injector o-rings.

Depends on how bad it's twisted. Mine's had a little twist in it for almost 5 years now.

How do you guys twist your fuel lines? Two wrenches and I've never had a problem. Mine's been apart probably 5-6 times.

Did this on the last delete I did. If you are in a pinch, when you go back together with it when you go to tighten it up, it will almost bend back straight. Did a fuel pressure test on the truck just to check and all was well.

Remove the regulator housing with the return line still attached as I am sure the reason it got bent was due to the fact that the fitting wouldn't separate. Spin the regulator housing to remove it from the return line. Thread the new housing on the return by spinning it and then screwing it back to the bowl. After you have it tight, tighten the return line and the return line will straighten out. Mine did atleast with no leaks or spiked pressure readings.
