Hey guys. I have a 1970 F250 with a good bed but rusty cab and everything else. I have the option to buy a 1973 with a wrecked box but a good cab. Is it possible to put the bed from a 1970 onto a 1973? What is involved in the swap?

Bump/Dent combination is going to look really stupid.

 

If that is what you have then do it.

Just measure the bed floor holes and compare what has to be done if anything. Things that could make a difference are wether the bed is off of/or going on 2wd or 4wd. The frames are different widths.

This is an 80's bed with a 79 cab.

 

I am running a bed off of a '58 on my '76. I had to drill a couple of holes for mounting it to the frame and I had to make a hole for the gas filler but other than that, it was a simple bolt-on.

 

bump / dent beds "should" interchange so long as neither are narrow frames (hiboy,cab and chassis f350 2wd etc)
