TPMS Delete?

Just a question here. Is there a way to completely disable the TPMS on my 2011 F350? I see some mention of the newer 2012 models not having it? I am going to get a second set of wheels for summer and I am not too fond of having to pay nearly $400 for a second set of TPMS sensors when I am the type who constantly maintains things like tire pressure.

Thanks!

Only if you add an aftermarket tuner like H&S. Even then, I know it will allow you to change the PSI, not sure you can totally disable it.

Simple method might be to put a piece of black electrical tape over the idiot light....j/k.

My 2012 has them. afaik, it is federally mandated that all new vehicles have them. That said, I bought another set from Discount Tire for $55 each.

I believe there is a GVWR cutoff point for them as heavier duty trucks dont have them, correct? I thought I read where the F350 is actually above that cutoff and not technically required to have them.

>10k GVWR doesn't require it (according to the "law"). I would love to get rid of it, or disable it.

The '12's now have a fleet only option of TPMS delete.

From the 2012 order guide:
TPMS Delete (18L) fleet only optional on F-350 SRW over 10K GVWR)

I just ordered a set of four Genuine Ford Motorcraft TPMS sensors for $120 with shipping off of ebay from a reputable seller. That is $240 less than what the dealer and a tire dealership quoted me.

H&S will completely disable the entire TPMS or you can adjust the psi and leave the system on.

I choose to turn it completely off! No more lights, dings, nothing. Just the way it should be from the factory IMO.
