Brake pads

I still have around 1/4" of pads left at 20,000 miles. Does anyone else have a number to go off of? How often are some of you replacing them?

Rotors seem to be wearing fine also.

I have 97,700 on mine. Probably a good 3/16" left. They squeak a little though so I have been thinking the same as you. What brand to get and can I improve on the factory choice. I may elect to get slotted rotors too since I tow a lot.

I'd also like to see what experienced owners have to say about your post.

rushchejj - you're one of the most experiences owners out there! Amazing that you have not change them out yet considering you have the trailer attached so much.

I'm thinking about doing slotted rotors as well. There's been a time or two where I would have liked to stop a little bit better.

Ha, only problem is epic, I have never had to replace brakes. My '08 had 155,000 miles on the factory pads.........

What we need is one of y'all that owned a 7.3 or a 6.0 and kept it long enough to do brakes. I'd bet that many of the '08-'10 owners don't have much to say in this thread either.

I swapped to Performance Friction PFC Z rated carbon metallic pads. Higher coefficient of friction, shorter & firmer pedal and shorter stops....big jump in performance and no problems modulating w/o getting into the ABS, especially towing.

I have black wheels so I don't notice any additional dust. They'll likely have a shorter life than OEM. I roadrace on PFC pads and thought I'd give them a shot on the tow vehicle, love them.

For this, I'd go OEM. They wear so long. Still have my orginals BTW.

mine were worn out on the back at 54000km. Not much longevity on the pads for my truck.Ive been in the mud alot at work though, which might have alot to do with it.

2005 in sig, just under80k miles, all stock brakes, third set of shocks, 3rd set of tires. Probably average 1/3 miles towing or hauling, weigh in heavy with retaining wall blocks, gravel, towing for month away, totally happy with brakes. Will be doing stock rotors, pads.

Hmmm, I road race on PFC01s myself. I know Carbotech already has a backing plate with our pads ready and was going to throw on some XP8s like I had on my old F150. But if PFC makes a pad for our trucks, I may go that route. I love CT brakes, but the PFCs last a lot longer. I realize I'm comparing apples and oranges since one is a street pad and the other is a track pad. But man, my F150 could out-stop cars when I had XP8s on it.
