Bad EGR, bad cats or fuel pump?

So i think I have a bad EGR valve cause I've eliminated o2 sensors, MAF, Spark plugs, coils, vac leaks, Fuel filter, and Fuel injectors. Truck throws P0172 and p0175 code, surges in RPM's at 10 MPH when hold steady on gas pedal, exhaust makes a popping sound like popping popcorn. I reset the PCM and un hooked the MAF and it ran a little better but still get the othe symptoms. Any Suggestions?

Well as the 5.4 3v has a VCT system, that potentially eliminates the EGR concern as there may not be one. have you pulled your Fuel Pump driver Module?

Bad EGR, Bad Cats or Fuel Pump

I checked the module and its good. The truck is only hard to start after reseting the pcm. What other solution do you have?
