2005 Expy P0174 and P0301 Error Code Help

I just got a AutoXray 700 CodeScout and pulled two codes.

P0174 - System Too Lean (Bank 2)
P0301 - Cylinder 1 Misfire Detected

Can I get some advise on how to fix the above codes?

My plugs were changed about a year ago, so I'm thinking the misfire is a bad cop. Not sure about the lean condition.

Any ideas?

well the lean could be cause by the coil pack not burnning the fuel correctly but it can also be a bad o2sensor check under the truck it could have gotten unpluged mine was.

I was planning on replacing the COP, so I guess we'll see what happens to the lean condition after that.

Can you tell me where the O2 sensor is? Wouldn't that come up as being bad on the scanner?

Bank 2 is the driver's side. There are 2 O2 sensors, one before and one after the catalytic converter. The one before is the one you want to get at.

Thanks, I will check that.

I picked up another code today on my way to work. It is:

P0308 - Cylinder 8 Misfire Detected

Also, can someone confirm the cylinder order below is correct?

Radiator
5 1
6 2
7 3
8 4
Firewall

Thanks.

Confirmed, you have it correct. I trust you took notice that #8 is on bank 2!

Thanks for the confirmation. I cleared the codes and the cylinder #1 and #8 codes came back. I have not seen the lean condition again, but I am going to check the O2 and change the fuel filter.

How hard is it to replace COP #8? It's way back but it looks unobstructed.

A little time and a little patience and it's not so bad. I know you changed them only a year ago but you might want to change the spark plug while you have the COP out, just in case it's a bum spark plug.

I replaced Cop #8 last night. A majority of the misfiring is gone. I am still getting some low rpm misfiring but no codes have been returned. I may try replacing #1 since that was the only other misfiring code I received.

The dealer replaced the plugs, so if the COPS don't fix the problem, it is going back to them.

Problem solved!!!

I replaced my #1 COP last night. Low RPM misfires are gone and power is smooth all the way up to redline.

Thanks for all the help.
