Not a direct answer, but in the 59 and 60 Fords it is

Foggy morning- I do not recall what transfer case is in these trucks.

That is what I was thinking. My 4L works in the 59, but my 4H is not working. It looks like a transfer case issue. Yes it is a Dana 24. Thanks
