No issue here, just wanted to show what my wife did :-(

Hey guys, been awhile since I posted on here. Not having any issues right now so figured I would share some pics of what my wife did to my explorer. I mean I bought it with the idea to take it off road but she beat me to it. She was a little shaken up but came out without harm. DAM ICE on the roads.. As soon as it was towed, another car wrecked in the same spot. Oh well, I was able to get an 05 that had less miles and cost me less money so not all bad.

I'm glad to hear your wife was fine. So the insurance company totalled it? It doesn't really look like it's all that bad. I guess the resale isn't all that high anymore either, so maybe it doesn't take much to exceed their threshhold.

Yeah the junked it. About 3K in body, no frame damage just panels and needed new door. Kicker was the wife let the engine running for about 10 min while on its side. Caused the engine to hydrolock. Got $11600 for it and only owed $8100 on it so made out... I guess. Was able to get a 05 Black one with all the same features for 9K and had only 50K on it. Love the explorers, had to get another. :-)

They totaled it over $3000, but gave you $11600? That makes no sense at all. Glad to hear your wife was okay though.

Sorry about that... did not realize the rest of it did not get typed.

3k in body
3.5k engine complete loss
then the shop gave them best and worst case, so State Farm decided to total it due to age and amount of damage.
