here is what I got, 1975 F250 auto 4X4 with a 390 4 barrel. when I got the truck it had a ton of vacuum leaks and I was not for sure it was a 390 so me being me I pulled it apart and confirmed it was a 390. well now I got the engine apart and not sure which way to go. If I build mine it will cost more but i'll know what is in it and how it was put together if I buy a complete engine like the one above, it may save me some cash and I can have my truck running by the end of the month.
oh yeah. If I build mine im getting rid of the 410 pistons and im gonna need to buy another head. I got a street master intake. Im not gonna make a hot rod just a good healthy runner (that can wake up the neighbors down the street) he wants $650
it's a no brainer.
Buy the $650 engine and install it. Drive the hell outta it.
save up your money in the meantime and build a 445ci 500hp/500ft lb monster street machine over the next few years.

you might want to go a little lighter on the camshaft however.
on another note, check on the block casting date. Might be a little bit of trouble fitting a 63 engine in your 75 vehicle. I have heard there are problems with taking the older engine into a newer vehicle... I never tried so I don't have any first hand knowledge.

If it's what he says it is, $650 is a steal. And even if it's just a good running engine, it's still a good deal. I'd buy it, install it as is, run it awhile then decide what you want to do with your current engine. You may just want to sell it off and recoup what you spent on the engine in the ad. You could possibly end up with a damned near "free" engine for your truck.
found this. I called the guy and am gonna go check them out tomorrow night.
Both for $400
Trying to sale 2 ford 390's for my dad. 1st motor is a crate motor that he had bought from a freind of mine. My freind half *** put it together and put about 60,000 on it in a 75 Highboy before selling it still ran good, just dirty(oil leaks). The 2nd motor came out of my brothers Highboy. It is bored .30 over, mild cam, highrise intake, mallory distributor crome valve covers. Was a very strong and good running motor when we pulled it. Any questions, feel free to call.
