Atlas 40 FICM installed

Well, I thought I would have to wait for the weekend, but I had (made) time this morning. I installed my spare rebuilt FICM that Ed (FICMrepair.com) upgraded and he also installed the Atlas 40 program from PHP on it. I am almost excited to drive to work! This program is on top of Matt's SRL+ tune on the SCT.

I will post up how it performed tonight. Thanks Ed and PHP!

Keep us imformed Mark. I too have an extra FICM i'm considering sending to ED. My 07 FICM I think is on it's way out, and want to get the extra one fixed and tuned and installed then get the one I have in the 07 done the same way.

So Mark, Whats the verdict so far? I know it's a little too early to form an opinion, but how did you like the first day's drive?

First drive -

Definitely a little more responsive, but then my engine has never had much lag. Still, I can tell a little improvement.

Can't tell a lot of power difference in the "seat of the pants" test, but I did get a sub 7 second 0-60 (first time). It was only one run and I could probably do better. Not bad for a 9000 lb truck. No doubt the power increase is there.

As far as fuel economy, it was pretty much where I think it should be. The lie-o-meter was saying 17 after the drive to work, but the wind was already over 30 mph (45 degree angle against me).

been reading about the Atlas 40 and I'm thinking it's my next mod come October.

my FICM has been dipping to 47.0 volts, and then flickers 47.5 to 48.0 in the mornings and then stays steady at 48.0 volts by the time I get to work

what was the turn around time from you to Ed and back?

Ed has ALAYS been fast w/ the work and delivery. I have had him repair multiple (up to 4 or 5 now) FICM's. This last work he did, I asked him to hold on to the repaired FICM for a few weeks while I decided for sure on the tune. Once I decided, he had it in the mail the next day. Highly pleased!

That's a good amount of stuff! I mis-spoke, I'm just under 7700 lbs: 4750 front, 2900 rear.

A ranch hand front end bumper replacement is a pretty good weight "adder" in itself. Last little add-ons I am working on (to go along w/ the 2 extra batteries and inverter) is a winch and an air compressor. I really do like having all of the electrical power I could ever want!

Extra batteries might be in my future, and definitely a compressor. I haven't decided which winch bumper to go with next, leaning towards Road Armor just for the look, but I know they aren't the most substantial. In my experience though, very substantial bumpers mean a bent frame.
