Pretty big exhaust ports and so responds to headers better than anything else that is otherwise stock Ford. Exhaust manifold bolts breaking off is boringly common, tho, so putting headers on is generally avoided.

fe stands for ford edsel
351m=modified
351w and 302w=blocks made in Windsor Canada thicker block to handle the cold

ect ect,if you ever get a fe 352 interceptor police engine or a hipo 390 gt engine you will see why the fe engine was fast a real stump puller,

It's not called a 302W, just a plain 302. The 351s got letter suffixes to differentiate them because there were three different engines with that displacement. Same way the 400 is just a 400, not a 400M even though it shares the same block as the 351M. (There was a 302C in Australia though...)

And the Windsor-series "small blocks" (221/255/260/289/302/351W) were manufactured in the Windsor engine plant, but "thicker block to handle the cold"? That doesn't even make sense.

No but it's funny as 'ell.

As an added option with the Windsor block, you could get an engine Snuggie for only $152.99!!!
I dunno where some folks think of this stuff :P

motors

I have had at one time or another every ford engine but a couple from 1960-72,fes are among the best with a lot of driveline twisting torque,the best and I had the pleasure to rebuild was a 427,what a high rpm motor massive pistons,the fes you could put 11.1 comp pistons right on the rods and go ,stock rods and crank handle it fine,i found a ltd 1968 once,the guy that purchased it new his wife said he could only buy a family car,and he did with every option he could get,it was a 4 door,4spd with the 429 thunderjet car,talking about a sleeper,you never no what you find under the hood,

FE Ford Edsel Lots of miles with FE's nothing wrong with them. They did what they were supposed to from low comp truck motors to Lemans. The motor itself is not that heavy although the intake is. The odd design of the head and intake is about the same as my 3.0 Vulcan in the Taurus. Didn't GM think enough of it to make the 2.8 and newer V6's like it too? Could be wrong.
