And since we're on the subject of Frenching mods....

I'm going to have to look into this, since my tank will be where the spare normally would be.

It will be safer on the passenger side anyway, as it is away from the traffic

May be a Big old classic lead sled trunk spare tire wheel well could be cut out and reused for the bed well tire mount found at a PnP yard..

Just sayin for the guys not using big A$$ LT tires..

Well, struck out at the swap meet finding an intake for the 71. However, I met some nice folks.. a couple who just finished a 1950 B-series Dodge and another couple road-tripping their 64 F100 up from San Diego. Also met Casey Mathieu of Gas Monkey Garage... he's the paint dude.

I picked up some tools - a small deadblow hammer, lynch pins to keep combo wrenches in order, steel brushes, and an old school battery checker.. the kind that puts a load on the battery to simulate a start.. it's made by Associated, Model 6029 for $20. Still available new for around $60.

Center console ... painted, reassembled, and installed.

The PO's cheap azz, bench-spec carpet sucks. I hate it. It's coming out sooner than later and most of it is going in the trash.

The home work I've done, looks like a wheel tub from a 52-57 chevy works. But I'm sure and full full size 50's era will work if it has a flat mounting flange.

HIO, nice work as all ways.
