Yes it was the one in the post( https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/13...l#post14522113)
that I was asking about. I don't have the exact same center as yours. but the outer strips are the ones I need to paint anyway.

Did you do anything about the spare tire well idea that is somewhere back in this build thread? I like that idea, so was curious.

It's still on the to-do list... I'm gonna do it but am mired with a bunch of personal and familial business stuff at the moment.

Copy that, and understand completely!

I'll be watching if and when you do.

I do too, but just want to see someone more industrious and talented than I do it first so I know what to expect and little tidbits of info that help doing a job like this!

It always helps to have someone break trail, or for those of us veterans... 'Walking Point' finds the path. Sometimes, the problems too...

Hio, I checked my hub caps and they are the same as yours(with the crown in the center). But I know my limits when it comes to painting. I can do the finer items like fences, decks, and walls. But I'm NOT going to even try to do those centers.

Good job Hio. Sometimes it sucks to do the logical thing. BTW, I hope you got good money for it. It looks like Barret Jackson material from here.

Netted $3K... the buyer got a smokin' deal. It's clean, clean, clean.

He's a pro racer racing 535 cube GTO and restoring a 68 GTO. He wanted something to drive daily and something his wife could drive too. He said Frenchy was rare in that it was largely unmolested and had the right upgrades... Hotchkis suspension, the right tire and wheel combo, stance, and subtle colors.

Sounds like you found the perfect buyer. Both the seller and buyer made out.....that's a great business transaction in my book.

Yes... he got a really nice car and I got it out of my cousin's car port since the Ferrari took its spot in the garage...AND I no longer have to open my garage to access my washer n dryer! !

Google "Beedy GTO" and you can see his bright orange race car.
