Dash Vent Question

Well its time to try and fix up the interior. Both of the passenger A/C vents are broken. Is there a way to take them out and put new ones in without removing the dash?

Yup, it's really easy...get a putty knife or something similar and work it into the sides of the vents and pull on them. They'll come right out at you. The new ones go back in without any tools. You'll see how they fit when you study the one that you pulled out. Good luck!

When you reinstall the vents, get some thin velvet tape and put close to the hinge point. That will help keeping the vents from wandering sideways. Had the pass side ones when you hit a bump, they moved.

Actually, I've seen VERY few BROKEN vents...

Most times, it's the little piece that snaps onto the center vane (The one with the touch control area on it) simply comes off, and then the other vanes are allowed to move, fall out, etc...

But since that little piece that is so troublesome is hard to find, simply nab as many good vents as possible...And keep a weather eye out for parts vents/etc...They're SIMPLE to rebuild...

As for the ones going back in....MAKE SURE that the little panel is firmly snapped...Otherwise, you'll be looking for more vents in a little while..
