79 300 to 93 300

First I want to say great site... lots of info! I've searched and think i'm correct in what i've found but want to make sure. I have a 79 F100 with a stock 300 that has finally died. I've got a 300 that came out of a 93 f150 that is fuel injected. Can I just take the fuel injected manifold off and replace it with my carb manifold and be back in business? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

No problem on the swap. You can bolt the carb intake on and and swap distributors and go. The only significant differences between the engines is 1) The EFI engine has slightly higher compression and has the "fast burn" cylinder head chambers. Because of this, you will probably need to back off the ignition timing a little. and 2) The EFI engine does not have the hole for mounting the mechanical fuel pump, so you will need an electric fuel pump.
