Gear Vender?

I have a F450, 6.4 with mini max, and auto trans with 4:88 rear end 4x4. Was told that the Gear Vender add on would not be guaranteed with the truck loaded with my Lance Camper and pulling my 16'x8' covered trailer loaded with toys. Has anyone tried the Gear Vender add on to the transfer case?

I forgot where I had this conversation before but they won't warranty their OD unit on diesels that are towing IIRC...

Begs the question, why are you considering a GV OD unit to begin with? There's more than one way to skin a cat...

Gear Vender

I really liked the idea of having 10 gears forward. I got a price exceeding 3k to change the rear ends gear ratio to 4:30's. I think I will just stay with the 4:88's, I can buy a lot of diesel for $ 3000+. I was just wondering if anyone had tried it!

The conversation I recall is that given the expense of the GV OD and the fact that they're deemed not suitable for towing was enough for that gentleman to pass. They're a rather $picy meatball too if I recall correctly, not including install. Not sure what kind of total weight you're looking at with that camper and trailer but if you're not deleted/tuned you might want to consider that to help you with both you mileage and power (as long as your warranty isn't a concern!)
