I have a 2001 Leer Fibreglass Tonneau cover with the pop-up "T" handle on top of the lid at back center. It has two slam latches attached to the "T" handle cam via two cables. The Left Slam Latch broke, and Leer no longer makes them. Dealer said they are dangerous. The new "Slam" latches have a hook that goes over a rod, that attaches to the Bed Rail adapter, to secure the cover. "Much like a car door latch." It will have to be adapted to the old cover, and there is NO return on the new style latches. Has anyone done this, and is it do able?
Okay, I got the updated Rotary Latches. They work, but there is a problem with my adjustments. The parts are (2) 80351 C-Striker-Rotary Latch Catch; (1) 83515 Rotary Latch-PS "Right Side"; (1) 83514 Rotary Latch-DS "Left Side"
I had to enlarge the Bolt slots on the two catches with a die grinder tapered barrel fitting.
They are from a Leer dealer in Evansdale, IA and I got them on line.
