Home made bypass filter?

Mongo75, you mentioned a home made bypass filter. Would you be able to show the details and pics of the install? TIA Lee

Here a couple of links to some excellent DIY bypass filter installs done by other members. I have the parts to do this myself, but haven't gotten it done yet.

I was responsible for the first link above. It is the photos in one of my "galleries".

I have more than photos at an article I wrote that's on my website.

For more detail, see:
SuperDuty 7.3 Diesel Lube Bypass Filter

The second link above is Ken's, is very similar, and offers an alternate mounting location.

Notice SP's comment on his instructions:
"The plug in the side of the block where the return line goes has a square, 5/16" recess. You will need some sort of square drive that size to remove it. I made one from a 1/2" short bolt, and ground the end down to that square size. See the photo at left for details."

You can buy a 5/16" piece of keystock at an autoparts store for about $4. That's what I had to do. Unfortunately, it was last minute because I wasn't prepared to need it, otherwise, I may have made one like SP did. In other words...KNOW THAT YOU NEED ONE, and have it ready before beginning the project.
