'04, 6.0 in the shop now for bed plate leak...$2400.............................

 

Lots of Bedplate Leaks and or rear main seal leaks or the common bellhousing hanging drip are simply from Oil to FULL

14qt works for me BUT that 15qt is a Deal Breaker

 

What is the PROPER way to check engine oil level? My dealer insists you "short stick" inserting the dipstick just until the bottom of the plastic handle touches the metal tube. He also showed it to me in the Ford service manual....My owners manual says insert fully.

 

Oh well sounds like he is over filling oil


Iv never seen or heard about the Dipstick thing but it does make sense that if he doesnt stick it in all the way when checking it he will have to add more oil to get it to the proper leval

Hope your not paying for this out of pocket


shure would have been worth a shot to try 14qt to see if that helped just by the way it seems he is seting the oil leval its got to much in it
