1951 Ford truck on Ebay. Value/condition

I am thinking of going to Rhode Island to look at a 1951 Ford F100, Red. Listed on ebay
Ford : F-100 Ford : F-100 | eBay

What are your thoughts on this truck? How much do you think it's worth? It's at $22,000 right now. Good deal? or should I keep looking? See anything wrong or not correct with it? Thank you....

Beautiful truck! That is absolutely top dollar for a nearly stock truck, but you couldn't build one for a dime less, or likely that clean.

That's a beautifully done truck...pricey though. I say if you have the money go for it. It would cost you that much to build one yourself to that point and it still may not look as good...

That's one beautiful truck. If it were mine, I wouldn't be asking one penny less.

I ended up walking away. The pictures looked better than the actual truck. The gaps were off. I could see places where they used bondo before paint. There was rust holes underneath on both corners at the cab and bed. Lots of runs in the paint on the Red underbody and also some in the paint on the outside. The undercarriage looked like it was painted with rustoleum, lots of surface rust popping out. The carb had leaked gas and stained the intake, and the motor didn't look as nice in the pictures. No documentation when the truck was restored or if the motor was rebuilt. The hunt goes on. I would like to find one that has had a professional restoration. This one doesn't fit the catagory.

FWIW, I've never seen a flathead V8 without those gas stains on the manifold, kind of goes with the territory. But it sounds like you made a wise decision to look at it in person!

Super clean build seems well worth the money. But I read your last entry and it shows just how deceiving pictures can be.
