Painting the inside of a cap??

Hi All,
We just had my son's used fiberglass cap painted & it looks pretty good! I suggested we paint the bare fiberglass on the underside of the cap. Does anyone have any experience doing this, and what type of paint can we use?
Thanks in advance....

Bob
