It can with the custom tunes; however, it does not have any bearing on the EGR delete kit. That kit deletes the EGR pipe/cooler, etc. Not the EGR valve.

The egr delete kit's primary function is to remove the possibility of egr cooler failure from a badly clogged oil cooler. Then you purchase the tuner to eliminate the check engine light on certain MY trucks. Or trucks that have gotten the latest strategy from the dealer.

If you want to delete the egr system go with a kit to delete it. Then get the sct to eliminate the check engine light depending on MY. I deleted my egr cooler and left egr valve plugged in and haven't gotten a cel. I have heard of others doing this and getting a cel so they bought the tuner to eliminate the cel. I was just trying to set you right. The comment you started with made me think you wanted to get the tuner just to eliminate the egr.

Oh I did. I thought if you did that you wouldn't have to do the egr delete

EGR

How bad is it to have the EGR deleted? I hear people talking about it all the time on here. My mechanic told me mine was DONE and stuck. Time for a new one. I asked about doing a delete kit and he said that's mainly for OFF ROAD use and that at some point I would get to HOT and real mess things up.

Opinions and concerns? I am fairly NEW to Diesels, and want to know what's best. I have 3 out of 4 injectors bad on one bank as well.

What's my best bet for injectors and EGR valve?

Thanks,

Don
