Why not save $20 on a ScanGaugeII?

For the life of me I do not know why more people don't take advantage of the reduced price on a ScanGaugeII on the CleanMPG.com forum instead of paying more at autoparts stores!

CleanMPG Forums - Powered by vBulletin

Look at the hyperlink under the pic of the ScanGauge box (titled "Even better value for members only is available in the latest SG-II w/ X-Gauge Group Buy purchase thread". You do need to join the forum first, but joining is free ..........

It is $140 delivered (shipped). They program it for the normal Ford PIDs, then you have to program the X-gauges - just like anywhere else.

Again - Join the forum (free), and then post up on the ScanGauge "group buy thread". You will be contacted promptly and it will be shipped promptly.

I guess if you want it immediately, Autozone has its advantages at $160 (or so), otherwise ..............

I checked it out and he wants to know which x-gauges to install. Is there a link on this site to them or, which ones are available/do you reccomend?

There are TONS of X-gauges. You have to pick which 25 you want (ScanGaugeII limitation)

Amdriven2liv has a great thread on most of them.

Hmm, I paid $140 at Autozone a couple months ago. They must have gone up.

Search: scangaugeII | Scan Gauge | AutoZone.com

I have been watching the scangauge threads for a very long time.

It has been $160 at Autozone for as long as I can recall......... may be you got it on sale (if so, I missed it), but you still had tax to pay.

Mark, We cannot get the Fan Duty Cycle to work. He has worked it out the best he can and zero luck.

These were the other 3 fan sensors, besides the fan speed we have, that cheezit had in his list of operating values. Although the list didn't provide the PID numbers. Is the second one the one we are looking for?

FANSSM LOW LOW LOW LOW LOW/HIGH

FAN VAR# 0 0 0 0-100 PERCENT FAN SPEED MONITOR

FAN VAR_F NO FAULT NO FAULT NO FAULT NO FAULT NO FAULT/YES FAULT.

Nothing named "duty cycle"

Don't know if it was on sale, but I paid $140 + tax. This is really derailing the thread and that wasn't my intent.

A Scangauge II with any kind of discount is worth checking out. It's the American Express card of 6.0's... Don't leave home without it!

Keep in mind when you program these xguages year and model of you vehicle. Some of these xguages don't work for all years. For example my 04 a lot of the EGR valve stuff doesn't work. I don't have the PIDS it is sensing. On the other hand since I don't if I ever do a EGR delete I don't need to buy a tuner to avoid CEL

As far as why anyone wouldn't buy a SG2 for 140. I paid less that that for mine. I bought a used one for $110 on ebay the previous owner was honest about age (and therefore software version) and then paid $25 for Linear Logic to reprogram it. I therefore paid $135 but I lost the warranty that I assume you get for $140.
