Thumbs up ANNUAL TEXAS FTE GATHERING!!

I've been Kicking around an idea to have an Annual GTG for the Texas Chapter, because we can do GTG's easily for each area, i found this place but suggestions are welcome. I chose this place only because of the central location to the majority of members (Austin/San Antonio, Houston, and Dallas FT Worth) but if planned far enough in advance maybe give others a chance to make it as well. if it does sound good, Now is the time for planning and preperation.

Texas GTG ideas

Let me know what you guys think, it seems like a good place especially for those with kids, It also has a store and RV sites, It seems to have everything for a grand GTG

Check this link to the Texas Chapter Member map and look for theGREEN camp fire Icon. it will show you where about the location of suggestion 1 is

there is one in the same zip code but looks to be 30-40 miles from the TOP end of the lake.
I wonder what kind of things the Camping place has in their store?

There are food joints around if you look to the left of the page on that link click the HOME button, and click merchants (or local merchants can't remember, it's been way longer that 7 seconds LOL)

Looks Interesting

94 miles 2 hrs. About the same as the distance to Brian/College Station for me.

I like it.

I don't want to go to Austin, but the Hill Country would be OK.

I can make it to a statewide GTG just about anywhere as long as there is a plan and enough advanced warning.

What is the proposed time frame of this event?

That's about the same distance for me as it is to go to Louisiana. Not a bad haul. Sounds doable to me. When are we looking at for the GTG?

I was thinking maybe the First weekend of August, kids are still out of school for those that have them and temperatures from summer may have dropped by then, (course you never know with this weather) unless no one cares about temps to much, If you don't have a RV they have cabins with A/C. I may call them to find out when are the times they don't have a HUGE HUGE crowd of people and see if they would be willing to have discounts for us.
