Any info on Lincoln mig welder Pro 100 series?

I was wondering if anyone has any comments on the Lincoln welders Pro 100 or Pro 135 series 110V welders. I'm leaning towards the Pro 100 as it is a flux core wire feed welder. Any pros or cons on it? Anyone have one and is it easy to use? Any info would be appreciated before I go ahead and buy one.

Thanks,
Barry

Hi Barry - Welcome to the Bodywork forum.

You might want to try doing a search for welders in the Garage forum. I recall seeing many posts on "which welder".

the lincoln pro 100 is a good qualtiy light welder but,i suggest if you are doing body work with it,DO NOT USE FLUX CORE,the flux on the weld can be a nightmare at times to get completely clean for body work, also,a gas welder is much cleaner work & use less heat, thus, less metal warpage ,use a "gas" welder,no flux, well worth the xtra couple of bucks,i have the lincoln pro 100 series here at home i bought at sams club couple years ago for a good price but only use it for light frame work or around the house projects,i have a very expensive Miller rig for tig welding & mig or stick,440 volt, probly out of your price range,i got a deal on it from a company going out of bussines because im a union ironworker & run into good deals as such alot, pays off to have a little cash in hand at times, lol, good luck

I have a Lincoln Pro 100 Mig welder that I got the gas conversion for & I love it for general sheet metal, lighter duty stuff. I have replaced the floor pans in my 60 Ranchero with it & have had no problems with it. I have a Lincoln stick welder that I use for the heavier stuff. Later, Jay

Definetly get the MIG setup. It may cost a bit more initially but the versatility is well worth the price..

Thanks for the info. They have the Lincoln Pro 135, which is the upgrade to gas. About 60-70 bucks more. I already have a gas bottle, so I guess that's the route I'll take. Thanks again, Barry
