Bosch replacement fuel pump

Has anyone else replaced their fuel pump with the bosch 69131 unit? I am trying to replace a Motorcraft pump assembly that failed after two months of service, so I decided not to buy another for $300+ and got the bosch unit for $70. The problem is I cannot seem to mount it correctly inside the assembly as it is not identical to the original. It has two separate rubber spacers, both of which leave the pump loose inside the old pump housing (and therefore the fuel line on top does not completely engage the outlet of the pump. The rubber spacer from the original unit cannot even fit on the bosch unit because they are slightly different sizes so that is not an option. Any help from someone who has used the bosch pump would be greatly appreciated.

Why don't you contact the pump supplier for installation manual?
All forum advise is going to be generic, not likely applying to unknown pump model

What engine and year?

The Bosch parts catalog specs a 69135 (w/ bracket) or 69136 (w/o bracket) for the 7.3L diesel, and a number of different parts for the gas engines, but none of them are 69131.
