302 with a C6

Got a question. I currently have a 351w with a C6 behind it. The motor is shot and I would like to put another 351 in but I have a chance to get a 302 pretty cheap. I just want to make sure this engine/tranny combo will work, and if there is anything I have to change or convert to make it work.

It will work, they're both small blocks, so you could even use your trans. You will need the computer that goes with The 302/c6. You will also need the exhaust crossover from the 302

I knew there were different computers for the motors I didn't realize it was for the tranny too. I will see if the sell has it by chance. If not how hard is this to find?

My son has an 89 F250 460 with a c-6. Wish it did have the E4 trans.

I'm not worried about gas milage. It's not an everyday driver. I just want to have a functioning truck again.

Make sure to get the computer. You may also need the linkage that shifts the trans, and any wiring harness related to the trans. I'm not sure if there's a neutral safety switch on the c 6 or not, so you want to check that out.
