don't use the AC and get that checked out real fast Glenn, before you blow a line.
i bet the orifice tube is blocked, or you have a line that is collapsing internally.

Could that orifice tube be blocked and the ac, when it runs, still put out cold air?

yes, if it is only partially blocked.
