1993 E350 - Where is Starter Solenoid ?

Where do I find the stater solenoid on my E350 Motorhome Chassis?

Further info on problem:
https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...rt-system.html

Thanks for your help! I have not worked on one of these rigs too much yet.

Woops! My question should have read:

"Where do I find the starter relay"? I found it!!

Motorhomes/vans are different birds, I wouldn't know where it is. But what I would recommend is finding the battery + terminal, and following the large + wire from there. If you have a solenoid, this large wire will run to it.

Thanks Dave

I got into looking at the wiring today and it looks like most Fords. The solenoid is on the starter. Thanks for your encouragement. EFI units do get a little more complicated as far as all the wiring and switches that have to "be in the correct state" to allow the relay to pass current to the solenoid. More places for the circuit to fail!

Generally, the only interlocks for the starter circuit are to ensure that the starter cannot engage while the transmission is in gear. That means a single switch circuit on the auto transmission vehicles and a clutch pedal circuit on a manual transmission vehicle. There's usually a single fuse that protects the circuit.

This circuit is also a common place for starter disable circuits to be placed as part of security systems. EFI has nothing to do with these simple circuits.
