I have a 1979 F350 2wd Camper Special with 140 inch wheel base. I am wondering how rare this truck is? It is going to be a stock truck puller this year. I am wondering if it is too rare to chop up to a modified puller. Also I need the hardware to hang the spare tire inside the box side. Any junk yards out there that specialize in camper specials? I also heard that Ford made a 8.5 foot box back then, is that true?

They are a pretty rare truck.Ive only seen 1 in person,and now I own it!They are the Super Camper Specials.For some reason they dropped the Super from the emblems around 78.
They are factory built for pulling.My '78 came factory with a 400,auto,cruise,HD cooling,9900# GVW,Ranger XLT package,and manual steering(now power!).
