Next mod, Shift kit!!

I plan on putting in a B&M shift improver kit in the next couple of weeks and was wondering what all i need to do it? obviously i need the kit, a new seal for the pan, a filter, fluid (how much fluid do i need?), anything else im missing? I may add a temperature gauge as well. is there anything else i can upgrade while im in there to extend the life of my transmission?

what does everyone recommend for a shift kit? B&M is sold out. Any other brands?

you can get the b&m kit at most any parts store locally too. once i fix my motormounts ill let ya know how it shifts with the b&m stage 1 kit. right not with broken mounts its BAD lol
but heres a good writeup incluting parts needed and even tools required. took me about 2hrs taking my time to install.

one thing i will recommend tho is to get one of the stay put filter clips. my filter fell out 2days after the kit install.heres a link to the clip. im sure you could find it other places as well.

the bummer about both the E4OD and the 4r70w is they are computer controlled. you can make changes to the valvebody with a shiftkit and see some improvment but the shiftpoints and such still wont change to much. Your advantage is you should be able to get the computer in your truck tuned and the shiftpoints and pressure setup better. its a bit more difficult with the e4od due to the ecu restraints.

is the punisher building 4r70w valvebodys? he would be the guy to go to if so. his e4od valvebodys smoke any store bought kit.

i dont think he is.. if anyone knows that he is please let me know!

my problems arent really with the shift points. i think i would be happy if the shifts were just quicker and a little firmer which is what these shift kits do anyway right?

.....Its not bad , be careful of the drill bits with the kit , they break easy , a small bottle jack helps with the second gear shift spring , if you don't want tire spining shifts use the stage 1 towing....the temp gauge is a good idea , so is a cooler if it dosn't have one....

I would use the Trans-Go over the B&M. Just a preferance.

We've had good luck with a TransGo kit in an E4OD, but the instructions were vague at best.
