Any tail light experts out there? Help me

A little info, 05 F150 Screw 4X4. My wife backed into a semi-trailer and broke the driver's side tail light. I replaced the tail light and both bulbs, they weren't broken but while I'm in there I thought why not. Here is the problem, I have tail light and back up lights, so I know that both bulbs are working. I do not have brake light or turn signal on the drivers side. If I am reading the owner's manual correctly, 1 fuse controls all functions to the tail lights on both sides, so why are the turn signal and brake light not working. Can anybody shed some new light on this issue? Thanks for any help.

Make sure you installed the proper bulb. The Tailamp bulb should have two filements inside the bulb itself one for the tailamp one for the T/S and Stoplamp. The Light Green/Orange wire should have power at the drivers side tailamp with the T/S or Brake pedal applied.

+1...those bulbs can sometimes be tricky to seat as well I would pull the light back out and check all the connections as well.

Thanks for the replies. I thought about the new bulbs, so I pulled the bulbs from the right side light which all works properly and installed them on the left side and got the same results. still a head scratcher.

Have you examined the connectors yet and made sure they are all clean and getting a good solid connection?

Light issues

Had a similar problem a couple of years back on my 97. Short in the wiring where it ran along the hitch. Fixed the break and everythings been fine since.

Disconnect the bulb socket itself from the tailamp harness and swap left and right, they should be identical.

check and see if any of the bulb sockets are damaged. if not it could just be one of your wires.
