Does Ford have the 100,000 mile powertrain warranty? If so, would this be covered under it or would the BPD mod void the warranty?

yes there is a 100k powertrain warranty that's good for 5 years after the original in-servise date. So no on your 05 you are out of warranty

It is ALIVE!!!

I hate to resurrect an old thread but I finally got her running this evening.

I came back and reread the thread and decided to try the IPR screen route before I took it to the dealer to have the cab removed to get to the HPOP. When I pulled out the IPR there was no screen on it. WTF!!!! There were little pieces of stuff inside the IPR so I just decided to replace the whole thing, not just the screen. It's amazing how quickly it goes back together when you've done it three times. I wish I had done this when I did the BPD mod. It took a few cranks but she fired up pretty quickly and ran a lot smoother than I remember. It hasn't run since April so I am f'ing ecstatic.

Thanks for all the info guys. This is why I love forums, they are a great source of information.

Tell me about it. It was on the side of the driveway where the sprinklers are and we have really hard water. Time to get it detailed. I've tried to get the water spots off the black paint and the windows but nothing works. Gonna pay a professional.

vineger and ammonia are good for water spot removal, use them seperately of course.
Much easier fixin that problem than a no start issue

Yeah I was convinced it was the HPOP fitting and when I tried to disassemble I couldn't get the last two screws out to remove the HPOP cover, so I put it back together and was waiting to take it to the dealer as they said the cab would have to be removed at a cost of over $2000. So it sat for a while. Then I got to rereading the thread and gave the IPR a shot and low and behold. I have a truck that runs.

Thats a pretty crooked dealer, I didn't have to remove my cab to remove my HPOP cover or STC fitting, what a rip off, and I've never heard of anyone removing a cab except for heads, but even then there is a way to do it without removing the cab.

I tried but couldn't get to the bolts holding the heat shield on the HPOP cover on the passenger side of the truck.

I feel kinda stupid now for not checking the IPR when I had it apart putting in the BPD kit. I even bought the screen kit from BPD.

Oh well. It's running now. Craigslist here it comes.
