Nominations/Volunteers For Ky Chapter Leader
Nominations/Volunteers For Ky Chapter Leader
I wanted to thank everyone for their friendship and participation. I Have been the Ky chapter leader since Christmas Day 2004 and have loved most every minute. Due to more stringent commitments from school and family. I feel the need to step down and let someone else take over and maybe breath some new life into the chapter. I will help get the new leader's feet wet and will pop in from time to time. With everything I have going on I find myself taking longer and longer before I revisit FTE and then spend to much time trying to catch up.
So with that, I would like to announce that nominations/volunteers for KyFTE Chapter Leader are now open. Before posting in this thread please review the following links, as they will likely answer any questions you may have regarding the position and the election procedure:
Chapter Guidelines: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/7...-1-2008-a.html
Chapter Leader Guidelines: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/7...-1-2008-a.html
If you have a question that's not answered in the previous links, feel free to post it in this thread or send a pm to George (glruff) or Steve (SteveBricks).
Here are the ground rules for this thread:
1) Before nominating someone, be certain that they will accept the position.
2) Volunteers/Nominees please introduce yourself, provide a brief detail of what you do, where you live, and add your first name to your signature (if it isn't already there).
3) You must be an Kentucky chapter member to make a nomination or volunteer for the position.
4) Participation in this thread is limited to Kentucky Chapter members and site staff.
I have been debating this for a while but decided recently that I need to carve my todo lists down. In saying that I feel that my commitment to FTE has been lacking and you guys deserve more than I can really commit. I have a few people in mind but will wait a day or two to see if they say something or someone nominates them.

Ryan, is it possible to send out a message to everyone in the Ky chapter? I thought I read somewhere that it is possible. If so, perhaps a blanket message to everyone about this thread would be in order.

Yes it is possible. But I believe I have to have George or Steve send it. The software is finicky sometimes. lol George did sticky this at the top for us after I posted it. So let me ask about the mass message. Good suggestion. I though we were ok especially after seeing nearly 80 views, but was wondering why no responses.

I received the blanket message just now but had already noticed the thread. I second the nomination of campsprings john.

Well, here's my $.02 USD....
I'll second the motion to have John as the Chapter Leader....After meeting him at last years' meet....I feel I know him a tad more than just as an avatar....
But if he feels, for whatever reason, that he doesn't want, need, or whatever, the added responsibilities, of the Chapter Leader position...
I'd gladly fill in, or be (Vice) Chapter Leader....
Just tossing that out there...Either/or....
An extra set of hands will always be there, as long as I'm a member of FTE....
So now, I say we let this thing run it's course.....

I would throw my hat in the ring but I feel John might be able to do better as life and lack of a job has been getting in the way and I want someone who can breath new life into the chapter, however if I could help in other ways I would not mind trying to help! so I second (third?) a vote to John if he wishes to accept!

Well guys, I'm a little embarrassed I must say. It's up to you guys though. And I would also like to add that Wes and Jaime would be very good as chapter leader. Both would get my vote and support. I would like to see some more responses from some other ky folks too.

I know the most active folks have spoken. And, if Ryan is ready to give up the position, then I will accept it, if that's what everyone wants. I would very much like to meet up with folks as I travel the state for work.

John let me talk with Steve and George...
As a suggestion To Wes and Jaime. Guys with today's fuel prices and the size of our state, it might be a good thing to work with John. You could be like assistants and help motivate things in your areas. I have tried doing this in the past but sometimes the helpers just fade away. Maybe hold mini-meets or group get togethers. That could help drum up interest in the chapter.
I already spoke with Wes about this next part. Jaime there are a number of Ford trucks in your area, you could print up spotter cards to place or hand out and welcome potential new members and it can get more people to check out FTE and Ky chapter.
Of course as I am stepping down all this seems to come to mind. lol. A day late and a dollar short. When I first got this chapter off the ground eight years ago it was with me sending out pm after pm and email after email. It takes some time and effort but I thought it was worth it. Do you?

Sorry for taking so long to get back to you guys. Per a clarification from Steve. John has been nominated and seconded and all the at jazz. We have to wait one month per FTE guidelines to give others the chance. So unless someone can get a nomination together with enough votes to win I believe the role of chapter leader will go to John.
Since I just now got the chance to say something to you I believe the clock starts now. so come May 9th the nomination should carry forward.
Good luck to John and anyone else.

Actually, May 3rd is the last day to volunteer or put a name in nomination. The clock started on the 30 day period when you clicked the "Submit New Thread" button
