Holley Pro-Jection 4Di help needed

Just picked up a Pro-Jection MPI (same as 4Di) ECU/harness off eBay the other day, and I seem to be having problems with sending the map to the ECU. When I try to send it, it goes through the writing process fine, but then says "Data send failed to verify". If I reset the base map and not tweak any parameters, it will say "Data sent correctly" when I send the map to the ECU. I am just bench testing this right now, so could this possibly be a voltage level problem? I used a car battery for power (was at 12.6v when I sent the map). I didn't use a battery charger though. I had a distributor hooked up to this and if I spun it with a drill everything seemed to work (injectors fired, IAC moved, etc.). I do know that the ECU is good, so I guess I'm just trying to figure out why I have data sending problems. I didn't want to call Holley and end up not getting an answer. Any help I could get would be appreciated.

A bad MAP perhaps? I would think that 12.6V should be plenty to bench test.

Could be a possibility, but the maps I'm attempting to use came with it on a floppy disk and I've also tried maps that came with the program. A little more info, I'm using version 3.38 software to tune this with an older Dell laptop with a serial port. Maybe the speed is wrong on the serial port? But then it wouldn't work at all one would think...

I wish I had more input, but I am unfamiliar with that system. I would think that the baud speed would be ok if other inputs can be entered. The only other thing I can think of is maybe the data on the disc is corrupt.

Thanks for your help! I'll have to see if I can find some new software and base maps and see if that helps

Anyone know where I can find some old Holley 4Di v3.35 or v3.36 software that I can download free? Just purchased a "new" E-PROM chip for my ecu, they sent me a v3.31 which only works with software v3.35 and v3.36. I have the only version I can find which just happens to be v3.38, making it too new for the chip. Maybe I'll have to look into using a different EFI controller, possibly one of my Ford EEC-V mass air computers. Thanks in advance!

I've got the Ver 3.35 floppy disks but don't have a PC with a 3.5" disk drive. I'll see if I can find a way to copy to a CD.

Thank you for the help, if there would be a way to get them onto a disk would it be possible to send them to me in the form of a zip file via e-mail? Let me know what happens, thanks again!
