I prefer a truck based SUV too Adam, but the wifey wanted posh and all wheel drive.

I drove one of our company owned Escapes. What a tin can. I think it was a 2006, had around 80K on it. Rattled, howled, clunked... It was scary.

One of the govt vehicles my wife drives occasionally is an Escape Hybrid and she hates it too.

Adam, if your wife is anything like mine, she beats the hell out of her vehicles, drives it like it's a damn race car. Unless, of course, I'm with her. The kids and her mom have told me she drives like a nut. That's why hers has burned oil since 100K miles, and my 97 -150 that my stepson now drives, burns none at 225K!

I know like 30 ppl with them, from multiple years, and they LOVE them. A guy I work with has an 01 with 200,000 miles on it, and said a couple of coil's, a pair of lower control arm's and regular Maintenance. He would buy another one if his would ever die!

I really think it is my wife!

I so agree! My wife is hard on it. I ask her "How did You break the HVAC *****". Her answer, she just noticed one day one was laying there.

I am gonna keep it and daily drive it. Keep my SD off the road a little bit. Plus I want to run it straight into the ground. When it is giving up the ghost, I will run it over a tree!
