I've had an intermittent electrical issue on my 06 drw f350. It has an aluminum flatbed. Sometimes when I turn the lights on, only the headlights and cab marker lights come on with only front turn signals and no brake lights. When I turn them off and remove the key, I will touch the brake pedal and those lights will come on and the "lights on" chime will sound. I hear a click under the dash when the brake pedal is pressed. I replaced the trailer hookup at the back of the truck and it went away until I backed it into the garage. With the trailer hooked up and the brakes applied, the running lights on the trailer light up. Also, the dash lights fade in and out with the turn signals. Now I am stuck because they are all working properly, but I know that will change come Monday.

 

Check for smashed, cut, or frayed wires probably starting at the back of the platform and working forward. I see it all the time where trailer wires will get smashed between something and cause the lights to all light up.
