Exclamation 1969 Club Wagon - Vacuum Modulator ID Help

My dad's '69 E200 (E230) Club Wagon needs a vacuum modulator. Problem is, the band color is rusted off, and I have no idea what color band modulator I should replace it with. It's a 123" wheelbase truck with a factory 302 2V and C4 transmission, 9" rear with 3.55's. Help!

Yeah I'm old enough to know.....LOL, If I recall right the colors were for different shift points for diff aps so most will work anyway. I think there use to be a adjustable aftermarket one made back in the day. I swapped alot of C4s and if it fit it worked......

As far as I know... If you had no idea, you got a black band and adjusted it... But that's for the press in / clamp style on the C6. The C4 is the screw in style. Every truck I've owned had a C6 (or 4 speed non-syncro ).

Advanced lists a white band for a C4 / C6, or a blue band for an FMX. News to me; I thought they only put C4's in the automatic E-Series. NAPA lists a green, light green, white, blue and a black, all different mounting styles. I made an educated guess and ordered the white band, as that's the only one that came up for all the look-ups.

I'll see how it works out. I want to get it back on the road so my pop stops worrying (it's like a member of our family ).

FTE user named NumberDummy has an extensive list of older model Ford parts from his library of older dealership printed manuals, some on microfiche too. If you need an OEM number he might be helpful---cross referencing with that info might be more specific to your vehicle's year and model.

As a follow up for future searchers, I ended up using a white band modulator which was almost dead on... then I dialed it in.
