Check out this link, thinking about doing this to my 1994 XL350 RCLB. Thought it would make good reading for you.

I had a clerk at a chain store try to sell me their private label brand of junk, claiming it was made by Moog and it was the same part, which was a complete lie.

I actually had the drag link for my F350 in the back of the truck when I was fed this line of crap, I told the clerk to pull his part and I'll go grab mine. When I compared their junk part to the MOOG part, even they had to admit that there was no comparison.

Rockauto.com is a great source for MOOG, as is a commercial auto parts supplier. Ask around the local garages to find out where the commercial parts store is located, most of them do not advertise to the public.

As for your question about why I replaced my parts, it's because they were worn out. I could grab a tie rod end and pull it in and out with my hands.
not sure where you are located at and it sounds like you are not a fan of auto part stores but if you look up advance auto parts witch i work at we carry moog parts that are from moog in the blue and yellow box . and if you come instore we will price match

Wow guys. Awesome awesome information. Thanks so much. This is above and beyond! I'll look that the links, I and I think I saw Cary's website, or at least his name on one of the other suspension threads. Just don't remember which one. I'll email him and talk to him. Thanks alot!

I've been going to the chain stores, and really don't know any better. But I'll look out for Moog parts.

Again, thanks guys! Big big help!

I don't want to hijack this thread, but very quickly- my issue with the big chain stores is the quality of most of the parts they sell are complete rubbish, they are "low cost" to make a price point but the quality is just pizz poor. If your Advance auto parts store is carrying brand name MOOG, congrats! Those are top notch, commercial grade components.

Around here in Baltimore we have Advance auto parts whose "top line" suspension and brake components are called 'wear ever' platinum level
the name, 'wear ever' usually indicated where it was manufactured. Auto zone is the other big chain and their parts are just as junky. I understand that not everyone is willing to spend top dollar on commercial grade parts to keep a junker going, but the "quality" of some of the parts from the big box stores is borderline dangerous.

On the F350 4X4s (with a Dana 60) the tie rod and draglink are both bent for clearance issues, the only way to get away from this is to change over to high steer.
