Ford is going to build an SVT version in the upcoming months. So far that I have heard, it will have the Lightning engine in it. It looks the part too. You won't get SVT and regular Expeditions confused. More news as I get it.......
That's good news if it's true. A Ford rep at the Dallas Car Show said this month that the Ford Thunder, a Expy concept vehicle was made with beefed up Lightning components (380HP, 350ftlbs!) last year, but they thought SUV interest was declining so shelved the idea. Now that even Cadillac SUVs are blowing the doors off Expys, maybe they are gonna do it at last. Hope it's super not turbo charged. Expy's are great, but they have always been short on power considering the poor gas mileage they get. Now if they would only offer a 4.11 rear end with that engine, that would be nice for pulling my trailer up Wolf Creek Pass and creeping around offroading!

I'm the source. I sat in and looked at this vehicle. I work at Michigan Truck. Sorry, forgot to tell you all that! It was originally going to be a Harley-Davidson edition, but Harley backed out. Marketing has said they want the truck built, so I think it will happen.
