Not to get off topic, but as has been pointed out time and time again there are very few differences between a basic SRW 250 and 350. With some relatively minor rear suspension changes your 250 can be 'upgraded' to a 350 pretty easily. Or just install rear airbags.

That being said, with the small premium for a 350 over a 250, if no great deal can be had on the 250, I would get the 350. In my case, I was able to get a great deal on my 250, and don't regret it.

Back on topic, this is a very interesting thread regarding the 6.7's economy. Many of my diesel owning friends or family tell me I'm a fool for buying a gas, they get massively better economy, but I think with the current $0.40 premium per gallon for diesel over gas, an owner would have a hard time paying back the $8k up front premium in the long run. I think the diesel has its place for those needing the massive power, and yes, there is a payoff in resale value of the diesel...assuming that doesn't get eaten up by higher maintenance costs over the years.

It's almost caught up to diesel.
Oh man, please do not point this out to the fuel supply people. They have probably just overlooked it so far!

I have a 2014 6.7 SRW 4x4 Crew with short bed and 3.55 gears with stock 20in rims and tires and just went over 3300 miles. When I first bought the truck I was getting about 17 to 18 mpg on highway and 14 mpg in city. I am now only getting 10.8 mpg. Very disappointed and I'm wondering if somethings wrong with my truck? I am not heavy footed on the gas pedal either. I haven't been on the highway for a few fill-ups. My front hubs are in the auto position and not locked. I keep getting the 'Cleaning Exhaust' message damn near every time I drive it. No dummy lights are on the dash. I have ran a system check and checked the report on the Sync website and nothing is wrong. Just looking at all of your nice mileage reports and wonder why I'm not even in the same ballpark?

Poor mileage

I have a 2013 6.7 with 26000 miles on it and I have consistently gotten poor mileage. I just filled up and I was getting 11.8 mixed city and short highway trips with easy acceleration. I have a leveling kit on it with 35x20x12.5 nitto teragrapler tires. I also have an age stage 2 intake system. Everyone I talk to says I should be getting better what do you all say? Is his normal?

Well, I am bone stock and still only get about 12 in the city and best I got on highway was about 18. I'm stuck at a combined 14.1 right now and I just went over 12k miles. A friend told me I can tear off all the emission garbage and get upwards of 30mpg (but void warranty). He did that to his Dodge and with a tuner gets high 20's gas mileage.

I'm getting upper 14's in city driving and mid 15's on the highway w/I putting the pedal down. I have a dually so I assume I would get the worst. It does seem like I was in the upper 16's to low 17's when I first got it. I was told I would get better mileage when it was broken in after 11,000 miles. You defiantly need to use and addictive in the fuel to get better mileage.

Here in Los Angeles we always have diesel prices lower than gas. Today it was at $2.59 diesel and reg. unleaded at $3.17.

Are you using synthetic oil? The setting on the mpg can be changed to last :05, :10, :15 minutes. Try setting it to :last :10 minutes and see what you get when at highway speed on a level rode after an hour if you can drive that long or next trip you take. Hope that helps.

I know when I changed my air filter for the first time it jumped back up and I run my tires at 65 psi not 55. The tailgate down on a long bed makes a difference I don't care what those guys on "Mythbusters" say. On a long bed you get that tailgate acting like a parachute on a hot rod. I don't leave my tailgate down because it bounces around and I don't want that back up camera to get damaged.

What kind of MPG are you getting with your gas engine?

I have a 2015 f350 4x4 6.2 CCLB with 3.73's and 11000k on her. Over 10 tankfuls and I'm averaging 13.9 mpg all around. I'm not afraid to get on it either but not most of the time. I've averaged 16 mpg on just highway. Gas is 2.20 and diesel is 2.37 here in MA. Both diesel and gas have been dropping here for months.

I get about 10 city and 15 highway in hilly northern New England. Lifetime average so far is 11.1mpg but to be fair I tow year round and with the cold winters run the remote start quite a bit.
