Newb here,
Flew from Seattle to Dallas to pick up My new 2014 F250, saved almost $10,000 buying the truck from Holiday Ford in Whitesboro Tx. Well I drove straight through back to Seattle and got 17.2mpg at an average speed of 70mph. total miles 2250. I must say diesel is much cheaper in the south than up in the Pac NW. This engine is incredible 100 more hp than my 04 triton and better mpg, although I did like my f150 she has 210,000 miles and is tired.

Great mileage! What set up did you get? DRW, SRW, CREW CAB,, etc... I bought my 2012 here in So. Cal. and saved $9000 off MSRP but luckly the dealer is 8 miles from me. All the other low volume dealers were crazy with their prices,

It is a srw crew with std bed, Lariat ultimate FX4. 3.55 axle and auto trans. I think it has every option they offer.
always wanted a diesel but never could justify the cost until I worked my F150 to death. I built this truck on Ford.com in a 2015 and it came back at $67,000, the local dealers offered it at $63 and I saved 10 off of that. The dealer had a 15 for only 1000 more but I had to get the dark green. I won't tow max weights with this truck so decided not to buy the extra hp of the 2015.

This is the computer's version. When not pulling I can get about 20 mpg on the highway. I love this truck!

That's a nice truck you got, congratulations! So it is a 2014 or 13? They are great in power and my 2012 hauls a**! I can'r believe a truck with that much power and weight can give such great MPG and take off so fast.

Nice set up! I hear the gas guys get 7-9 mpg towing something like that.

I reset the mileage computer and Trip B at top off and took two different highway trips. On both, it ran at 15-15.5 for the first 100 miles, then the average started coming up and settled in at around 17. It also seems that it is worse driving in rain, even though I drive slower. Anyway, it's too early for me to tell, but wanted to share what I've seen.

I've heard that with ethanol in gasoline, you get a direct penalty in mileage for every percentage that is ethanol. (10% eth results in 10% mileage decrease). What is the effect of biodiesel? I would think it would still perform well. The BTU content of veg oil is similar to diesel, isn't it?
I always take the traction control off because it will automatically apply the breaks and you will lose mileage. You only need the TCS when you are in the snow. After 5000 miles I got a little better mileage and the. More after 11000 but the Cleaning Exhaust BS ruins it. I use Rotella synthetic or Mobil 1 oil and use a fuel additive like Ford recommend . I get 17.3 empty at mph highway and about 16 city at 40 mph empty. I do have the crew can 4 x4 long bed DRW.

Thanks guys!
429, it's a 13. You can see that it's a SB and SRW but less obvious (to me) it's 2WD.
I like to say the 6.7 is the heart of an OX, it loves to pull.
Also less obvious (thankfully) was that the front cap of the 5th and my grill were COVERED with love bugs. Was afraid I'd have to use a sander to get 'em all off.
We pulled our previous trailer (about 1/3 the weight) with an 03 Expedition 5.4 and would get mid 9's mpg, never broke 10. It did OK on the flat but huffed going uphill. This is my first diesel and I didn't know what to expect but after the first pull I was sold.

You will never go back to gas now. I had my 1st diesel a 1991 F-350 with the 7.3L and loved it. The wife cried when I sold it and I should of kept it as a second vehicle. These new 6.7L are a work of art! Diesel here is always cheaper than gas or the same as regular unleaded plus the fact that diesel gives you 30% better mileage is a no brainer for me.

2014 F250 Lariat 6.7L with AirLift 5K bags... I get about 16mpg combined city/hwy driving around town. Towing this beast around the hills of Western PA, I get 10-11mpg. Can't beat the power.

I've seen other places like that. NOt here in Texas though. Regular is dropping like lead (oohh...was that a pun??), but diesel is stuck and not going down much at all. I've seen one place at $3.45, but on average it's around $3.55 - $3.59. I've seen regular unleaded as low as $2.82. Not fair!!
