ABS Light staying on after battery change

I had my batteries go low and had to remove them to charge them. When I placed them back in the truck and started the bad boy up, the ABS light stayed on. It was not on prior to the battery removal. Anybody experience something similar? Any suggestions? (2002 7.3L F350)

Hi crapshootersteve and welcome to FTE.

Have you checked the fuses? Also, the ABS light may just be a coincidence. Check the wiring to the sensors and the sensors. Also check your VSS sensor, especially if the speedometer is acting strange.

Cleaned up the sensor, but didnt shut off. I unplugged the negatives from the batteries to reset. Once I drove around to see how the vss was doing, the light magically turned off. It's been a few days and still off

it takes a constant 10 mph to reset the abs light after codes are cleared. you should have no other problems
