A friend of mine had something like this years ago. He let his wipers get "older" since they still seemed to work. Once they got old dirt and what not got imbedded in the wiper and scratched the heck out of his windshield. In the fine print of the directions, it stated that you actually need to change your wipers more often since they are working harder. When he did change his wipers they felt like sandpaper. I think it's a great idea, just need to keep checking the wipers more often I'd think/suggest.

You should be good to go then. I've found that using the green scratch pad once on them does the trick for me.
My buddy was the 'if it ain't broke...' kinda guy

Ok, so it seems I am not the only one who lives with crappy wipers, I guess I just never thought to ask for help here.
My drivers side wiper seems to go down to far, and so when the defrosters are on and supposed to be cleaning the ice the blade is down below that level and it doesn't get warm so ice forms all over it and I have to stop every 30 minutes or so to crack the ice off of it.
In the good old days I would have just removed the arm, then clicked it up a notch and retightened it. But these blades have a groove and they can't be adjusted.
I thought the arm was bent so I brought it to the dealer, and they ordered an arm, and it is exactly the same.
It really is very aggravating, I wonder if anyone else has had this issue or knows how to fix it?

i tried rain-x before and never liked it, also tried the fluid but it froze. i'm a wipers kind of guy...i love using them and having a clean window. it ticks me off if i'm with somebody and they let the whole window get covered before turning them on. i really like the low/high setting! winter time is a whole different story with the ice/snow.
