Being rid of the truck

The Ford tough F550, my 2011, of all the problems Ive had, this one did me in. Driving to work, transmission is in 6th gear, rpm about 1900-2k,
thats about 70 mph. not pulling a load, tranny suddenly spins up as if it shifted to a phantom gear, like looking for a 7th gear. no codes, let up on the pedal, RPM's hovers where it jumped too, stayed there, as I slowed down, it stayed spinning high. then the RPM's decreased.. another thing its doing, this one is just plain stupid. wiper fluid tank, press the button? little pump motor spinning high as if its empty, of course, its not, the fix? pull apart the hoses at the junction connections, blow air to create pressure that will push water back into the tank, its like priming the pump. thanks ford. I ought to film all my problems, put it on You tube, go viral, "hey buy the F series Ford tough truck, leaking pinon seals, faulty batteries, cracked radiator, seat clips break, synch issues, wiper fluid tank, steering damper failure, now leaking sun roof. F*** me running. anyone want to buy an 2011 F550 with only 39000 miles on it?

Man, sorry to hear that, definitely sounds like a lemon. I would be pressuring the crap out of the dealer and try to get it traded for another one.

Good luck man.

2011 with 39k miles. Warranty?

You bought the first year of a new engine and body style. Early adopter's penalty, my last year 6.0L is great.

Now we go into bashing different models (than ours) again.
I would like to hear the other side of the story. New technology brings new requirements from owners and too often owners bash it only because they don't understand it.
So how the transmission fluid level check come out?

It has nothing to do with bashing different models, my statements are entirely based on my understanding of how 6.7L owners in general feel about some of the issues that have come up; some guys say that since the 6.7L wasn't based on a previously released platform and came from a newer diesel designer that many of the issues in the powertrain relate to Ford using customers as beta-testers for the platform. This isn't a new complaint, in 2003 the problems were head gaskets and EGR coolers, and owner's complained that they were testing out the new emissions required components and engine design for Ford/International at their own expense. I guess I could redact the 6.0L part of my first post because some guys might feel that it's baiting the OP by stating an engine pissing match, but since that's just an ancillary part of the post I really don't care, because if someone homes in on the 6.0L part they're missing the entire point of the post; buying early means you're more likely to face unknown and unsolved issues.

He bought the first year of something, and he's dealing with the kinks. He apparently hasn't had a severe failure (other than the trans), just normal fit and finish junk and early failures that a warranty is there to cover, so grandstanding about selling the truck seems like hyperbole. He should still have a powertrain warranty for the trans issue, and if he's concerned Ford sells a variety of ESP and DieselCare warranties that can keep the truck covered for well past the initial interval. Since he bought the first MY of the powertrain he would probably benefit from pursing this option.

I don't know if the first year glitches is the rule.
I drive EARLY 99 7.3 l that was kind of prototype stage for few months only and it seems to be one of the best pieces from the series.
I also drive the first year of production of drive by wire turbo diesel Mercedes, what is bulletproof at 230k

What is a Lemon?
A vehicle that continues to have a defect that substantially impairs its use, value, or safety. Generally, if the car has been repaired 4 or more times for the same Defect within the Warranty Period and the Defect has not been fixed, the car qualifies as a Lemon. All States differ so you should consult the Lemon Law Summary and the State Statutes for your particular State. Note that the warranty period may or may not coincide with the Manufacturer's Warranty.

I found this on a lemon law govt site

every state is different look into it
