I am starting a new parts list. This build will be very similar to what was initially planned, but I may not be upgrading heads or intake at first.
Before I order the Pioneer FRA205 flexplate, I just want to verify that it is what I need. I remember Conanski saying to get one for a Crown Vic with 5.8 and AOD.

This 94 5.8 motor has the AIR injection into the exhaust manifolds. The last 96 5.8 I was going to rebuild did not have any AIR system. The 5.0 has it in the back of the heads. I'm debating on what to do about this. The headers I have seen have the EGR but not the AIR. I am considering these two headers. Either the JBA 1628S, or the Summit Pacesetter SUM-G9036. I have a set of JBA headers similar to these on the Mustang and am very happy with them, so I am leaning that way on the truck. I'd like to only do it once, but the others seem like a good deal with not complaints on here.

Some how I missed this thread first time around. Will enjoy following your current project.
Two things I used on my 94 is the Ford Racing balancer & the JBA 1268s. The HB has the same number cast into it as did the stock unit. One thing I recommend is VHT ceramic header paint time cured per instructions & bake cycled multiple times with increasing levels of heat prior to installation. After a few hundred miles of summer driving, There is NO discoloration or burn off.

Cup brushed, sand blasted, VHT ceramic paint:

I'll try & look in my receipts folder for a part #. All my stuff came from Summit, but they drop a lot of stuff & sometimes sell off their inventory in bulk. When I got ready for my FRPP SS shorties (for our 5.8 trucks) they had already sold their remaining ones to Tasca Ford who at the time marked them up to around $500. Hence, the JBAs.
Somewhere above you asked about a good roller set. I used an Edelbrock set that was reasonable ($60?) & non-multikeyway . (I'll look for it too)
As far as studs went, I cut down a pair of SS carriage bolts & sourced some allen heads from Fastenal. I also cut up my coil bracket & bolted it back together so it sits above the valve cover on the two tall studs & holds the EGR solenoid. The two AIR solenoids are hidden further back.
